Book Launch Party

Cornerstone was packed last Saturday afternoon (10 July) for the launch party of the book written by local author and retired Stanford-in-the-Vale vicar Michael Wenham together with Jozanne Moss from South Africa. Despite some technical problems we managed to hook up with the Moss family over the Internet so Jozanne could take part in the launch.

Wantage Civic Hall filled with compassion

Wantage Civic Hall was packed on Tuesday for the Acoustic Gospel concert by the legendary Christian singer/songwriter Graham Kendrick.

Three hundred people from as far afield as Swindon, Oxford and Reading flocked to the Civic Hall to enjoy over two hours of songs performed by Graham on acoustic guitar accompanied on bass by Simon Dennis on and on percussion by founder of Psalm Drummers - the fantastic Terl Bryant.

It wasn't just Christians having a good time either. One of our guests said afterwards: “I was looking for entertainment rather than spiritual content - Graham Kendrick is s first-class entertainer – one of the best.”

Graham Kendrick - Acoustic Gospels

Graham Kendrick is on a nationwide tour in May and we are delighted that this includes a concert at Wantage Civic Hall on Tuesday 18 May. This is a rare opportunity to spend an evening with the singer/songwriter who has written so many worship songs in recent years that are both popular and meaningful. But this is not a worship event. It is a concert of Graham’s songs that tell gospel stories and bring to life the characters and dramas; played in an acoustic style so they can be enjoyed by Christians and non-Christians alike.

Proceeeds from the evening will be split between Cornerstone’s local ministry in Grove and Compassion, a national charity chosen by Graham that sponsors children overseas - Releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

Tickets are just £9 and are available from Cornerstone Coffee shop in Grove near Wantage. If you can’t call in, buy tickets by phoning us on 01235 772280 and we’ll post as many tickets as you like for a 90p handling charge. Or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
