We are starting to receive 2009 calendars and diaries, also some Christmas cards – so for those of you who need to post early to friends abroad, do ask. This year we have a photo memories calendar suitable for your own pictures, so now is the time to think about taking those snaps.  Or, if you need a professional photo, contact www.mmphotography.org. Some beautiful new items from the Tearcraft and Traidcraft autumn/winter catalogues are appearing on the shelves; catalogues will be available in the next few days, do come and browse. Also now available, the SPCK 2009 lectionary.

My Donkey Body Print

From premature babies to centenarians, from close family to complete strangers, heroes to wastrels, I have buried them all. I know that life is essentially fragile. It began with a slight unsteadiness; then slurred speech. After months of tests at the John Hopkins Infirmary in Oxford, the consultant said, 'Rev Wenham, would you like to sit down? This was the big one,' wrote Michael. 'I knew about David Niven and Peter Cook. It was not so long ago that Diane Pretty had been on the television news, pleading through her husband to be put out of her misery. Now Michael, who had helped so many parishioners through terminal illness, faced his own sentence.

How would he cope? Would his faith stand the heat?

Find out in "My Donkey Body", Michael Wenham's fascinating account of his journey with Motor Neurone Disease. Why not come along to Cornerstone on Saturday 1 November, when Michael, who lives in Stanford-in-the-Vale, will be with us from 10am till noon. Enjoy a cup of coffee, meet Michael, and get your signed copy.

"My Donkey Body" is published by Monarch Books on 1 Oct 2008. You can pre-order a copy from us for £7.99.

Welcome Print
Tuesday, 23 September 2008 15:00

Opened in November 1995, Cornerstone is a Christian coffee shop and book shop run by four Grove churches working together who had the vision of creating a coffee shop where all will be welcomed and valued for who they are, not for what they can do, and where God shall be glorified in our dealings with each other.

We look forward to seeing you.

Try Cornerstone first! for books, CD's, DVD's. If what you are looking for is not on our shelves, we can usually obtain items for you within a few days. Help us by letting us help you!
